I think this page goes well with the first page, however it does look a bit repetitive and again I think the layout could be improved

Again I like the colours in the background and IU also like the quality of the pictures, However to improve I could make the layout of the page look more interesting.

Mockup contents page

This is my original design for my contents page, I like the colour scheme and the picture in the background fits in well. To improve I could edit the picture to a better quality.

I like this a lot more than my previous attempt because the picture has been edited and colours have been used more effectively, also the font for the name of the magazine has been changed to a more appealing font. However I need to have a look at changing the fonts at the bottom becuase they look to basic, and prehaps give the magazine a tag line.

This is my mockup for the front cover to my magazine, after doing this I now know what needs to be improved. I need to use a better picture of the band because I dont like the drummers expression on that one and I could do with editing the picture more, also I think I will change the front of the main tital and of the text at the bottom.

Final font

After doing a survey, I found out that this was the most popular font, and therefore this will be the one I will use in my magazine when I come to do my actual copy.

Metal hammer contents page

This is the contents page of a metal hammer magazine, here we see many pictures of different bands. This will immeadietly attract the buyers attention and make him/her want to read more.
Again, there are lots of popular bands named on the contents page with information about whats going to be said about them, this will encourage the audience to buy the magazine.

KERRANG! contents page

This contents page will instantly attract the buyers attention with the big picture, this will then encourage the buyer to read the list of what else is in the magazine. The list of what is in the magaizine has been made interesting becuase there are names and pictures of bands that are really popular, this will make the audiance want to buy the magazine.

KERRANG!

This is the front cover of a Kerrang magazine. As you can see most of the title has been coverd by the main picture, this is becuase the magazine is so popular that people know what the magazine is called just by seeing part of the title. The main picture of two lead singers from two different bands and the words in the middle "avenged sevenfold vs bullet for my valentine" will attract the target audience becuase they will want to know whats going on between the two bands and why they are together on the same picture. One of the kickers at the bottom says "Free posters" and the pictures on the bottom are of the posters, this will promote the magazine because some people may buy the magazine just for the posters.

Metal Hammer

The title of the magazine "Metal Hammer" has been partially coverd by the picture on the front, this is because the magazine is so popular that people know what it is called without seeing the whole of the title. Also the picture itself will attract the buyer to go and look at it, because it is different and the use of costumes and special effects has been used very effectively. The way "Trivium" has been written looks as if it has been written in blood which adds to the theme and also because Trivium are a popular band that will also attract the target audience. The kickers on the front cover like "top 50 albums of 2006" and "the unholy alliance" will also interest the buyers becuase they will be interested in what the top 50 albums are and what the reviews are on concerts such as the unholy alliance tour.

This is my blog for my media studies magazine. On here you will find my magazine I made, analysis' of other magazines and running commentary of what I am doing.
